Stoneville, N.C. — What began as a late-night disturbance call involving reports of shots fired has turned into a long list of felony drug charges — and an additional charge accusing a Stoneville woman of assault with intent to kill.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 12:13 a.m. Aug. 26 to a home at 285 Bellville Drive in Stoneville after receiving a report of a disturbance and shots fired.
Deputies secured the area and began investigating. Detectives and narcotics officers also responded to the residence.
After the investigation, 40-year-old Lakisha Levette Webster, who lives at the address, was taken into custody.
According to the Sheriff's Office, narcotics were seized and placed into the department's evidence facility.
A Serious Drug Charge List
Webster was initially charged by the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division with:
Felony trafficking fentanyl
Felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and distribute Schedule IV controlled substances
Felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and distribute Schedule III controlled substances
Misdemeanor simple possession of Schedule VI controlled substances
Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
Misdemeanor maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for keeping or selling controlled substances
Webster appeared before a Rockingham County magistrate and was given a $75,000 secured bond. She was transported to the Rockingham County Detention Facility.
She is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on Sept. 2, 2026, on the drug charges.
Then Came Another Charge
The investigation into the original disturbance and reported shooting did not end with the drug arrests.
Sheriff's Office criminal investigators continued working the case, and on Aug. 28, Webster was additionally charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Unlike the drug charges, Webster was given no bond on the new charge.
She remains incarcerated at the Rockingham County Detention Facility and is scheduled to appear in District Court again on Sept. 8.
Despite the report of shots fired, authorities said no one was injured in the incident.
Sheriff Billy Parker thanked the Stoneville Police Department, Rockingham County 911 communications personnel and telecommunicators for their assistance.
Parker also praised the patrol deputies, detectives and narcotics investigators for what he described as a professional and in-depth investigation.
The case remains under investigation.
Webster is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
