Another name has been added to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office recent arrest list.

53-year-old Robert Ray Handy was arrested on August 10, 2026, and faces both felony and misdemeanor drug charges.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Handy was charged with:

Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Handy was issued a $10,000 secured bond.

Another arrest, another controlled-substance charge — and another court date now on the calendar.

As with all arrests, the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
