Grab the popcorn, Martinsville. It looks like another chapter of City Hall drama could be on the way — and this time, a former city councilman is promising to tell his side of the story.

Former Martinsville City Councilman Chad Martin is promoting an upcoming live discussion in which he says he plans to reveal details of a conversation involving former Martinsville Police Chief and current City Manager Robert Fincher.

Martin's announcement suggests he has concerns about what he believes may be unequal treatment and selective public criticism of certain individuals.

In his statement, Martin said:

"Since Star News has done this and never called out other people I will be going live about what the former police chief told me at Octoberfest about how certain people are called out."

Martin added:

"It's time to call out the truth and how certain people are treated."

SO, WHAT EXACTLY WAS SAID AT OCTOBERFEST?

That's the big question.

Martin has not yet publicly disclosed the specific details of the conversation he says took place with Fincher, at least in the statement provided to STAR NEWS.

His remarks also reference STAR NEWS and raise questions about what Martin believes has or has not been covered fairly.

For now, however, those concerns remain Martin's characterization. No specific evidence of unequal treatment or wrongdoing has been presented in the announcement.

CITY HALL DRAMA OR A STORY WORTH TELLING?

Martin's promised livestream could offer additional insight into his concerns, but until he shares the details, it remains unclear what allegations, if any, he intends to make.

And as for Fincher? The former police chief turned city manager has been mentioned in Martin's announcement, but Martin has not yet publicly explained what Fincher allegedly told him.

For Martinsville residents, the question is whether the upcoming livestream will deliver meaningful new information or simply add another round of political debate.

One thing is certain: Martin is promising to talk. What he actually has to say remains to be heard.

STAR NEWS will continue following the story as additional information becomes available.
