Rep. Morgan Griffith won reelection in Virginia's 9th Congressional District, taking 65.95 percent of the vote with 193,785 ballots to Democrat Joy Powers' 33.84 percent and 99,444 votes, with all 28 localities reporting.
The district stretches across southwest Virginia, including Henry County, Martinsville, Franklin County, Floyd, Carroll, Grayson and the cities of Bristol and Galax, among other localities.
Griffith's margin was built on strong showings across the rural counties, while Martinsville voters went the other way, favoring Powers with 2,681 votes, or 63.83 percent, to Griffith's 1,514, or 36.05 percent.
