Rural King plans $40 million logistics hub at former VF site in Henry County

Rural King plans to invest $40 million in a new logistics and distribution operation at Henry County's Patriot Centre Industrial Park, bringing a major employer back into a former industrial site.

The company acquired a 500,000-square-foot warehouse previously occupied by VF Corporation and expects the project to create 150 jobs. Henry County says the average annual wage is expected to be about $59,000, though the official announcement does not provide a hiring schedule or facility-opening date.

Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger approved a $750,000 Commonwealth's Opportunity Fund grant to assist the county. The county and The Harvest Foundation also approved local incentives, while workforce support is expected through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program and the federal New Markets Tax Credits Program.

For Henry County, the project is notable because it reuses an existing, development-ready building rather than requiring a new industrial footprint. The announcements describe planned investment and expected jobs; additional details about upgrades, hiring, traffic and operations will depend on the company's rollout and any future local approvals.
