Winston-Salem’s Summer on Fourth series returns Saturday, Aug. 1, with an evening event downtown and a scheduled street closure for setup and teardown.
The free, public event is set for 7 to 10 p.m. at 638 W. Fourth Street. The City of Winston-Salem’s calendar identifies the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership as the event organizer and lists the event as open to the public.
Drivers should plan around a closure on Fourth Street between Spruce and Poplar streets. The city says the block will close at 4 p.m. and reopen at 11 p.m., covering the hours before and after the event. People meeting friends downtown should allow additional time to park and approach the area on foot.
The city’s event listing also provides a contact number, 336-816-3940, for additional information. Because the closure is tied to an approved special-event permit, motorists should follow posted signs and any on-site traffic direction during the Saturday evening activity.
