Drivers using southeast Roanoke should plan for a Friday morning construction closure on Piedmont Street SE.
The City of Roanoke says the work is scheduled for 5 to 8 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2026, on Piedmont Street between Walnut Avenue and Riverland Road. The city says travelers may experience delays because of a lane closure in the work area.
Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians should use caution around crews and equipment and allow extra time. The city encourages drivers to use an alternate route when possible during the three-hour work window.
The closure is listed as construction activity rather than a full-day road shutdown. Conditions can change as work progresses, so people traveling through the area should follow signs and on-site traffic control.
