Winston-Salem sustainability committee schedules Oct. 1 virtual meeting

Winston-Salem’s Community Sustainability Program Committee is scheduled to meet virtually from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1.

The city says the bimonthly committee reviews the Local Action Plan, provides periodic reports and recommendations, and serves as an advisory body to City Council on greenhouse-gas emissions and related sustainability issues.

The meeting is listed as a Zoom session. The city’s event page says residents should contact sustainability staff through the city contact form ahead of the meeting to request an observation link. The page also lists 336-397-7929 for contact.

That format gives residents a way to follow the committee’s work without traveling to City Hall. The committee’s role is advisory; the city page does not identify a specific vote or agenda item for the Oct. 1 session.
