Winston-Salem State band parade will trigger Oct. 10 rolling road closure

WINSTON-SALEM — A Winston-Salem State University band parade will create a short rolling road closure on Saturday, Oct. 10, before the university's football game at Bowman Gray Stadium.

The City of Winston-Salem event listing says the closure begins at 11:30 a.m. and reopens as the band passes at about 11:50 a.m. The football game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

The affected stretch is South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive from Cromartie Street at Reynolds Park Road to Bowman Gray Drive. Drivers using that corridor during the parade window should expect a brief moving interruption and plan a few extra minutes.

Practical details: The city lists the event address as 1250 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 and provides 336-413-8190 for questions. The event is open to the public; the university's football information is linked from the city notice.
