ASHEBORO, N.C.** — A shooting at a McDonald’s restaurant in Asheboro has left one man injured, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, with the Asheboro Police Department reporting that the shooting took place on the 1400 block of North Fayetteville Street.

According to police, the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Emergency medical personnel quickly transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries. Details regarding his current condition have not yet been released.

Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as the shooting unfolded, with many patrons and employees inside the restaurant at the time. Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Alexander Pulido, fled the scene immediately following the shooting. However, police were able to locate him shortly thereafter. Pulido has been taken into custody and is now facing multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, as well as inflicting serious injury.

The Asheboro Police Department is continuing its investigation and is urging anyone with additional information about the shooting to come forward. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing concerns regarding gun violence in public spaces.
