Stoneville Man Arrested for Stabbing Girlfriend Multiple Times

In a disturbing incident on August 6, 2024, Rockingham County Sheriff's Deputies responded to reports of a violent assault at a residence on Snead Road in Stoneville. Upon arrival, they found 36-year-old Christina Nicole Hardy at a neighbor's home, suffering from extensive stab wounds. Hardy was immediately transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition after being stabbed approximately 20 times.



Authorities have arrested Joshua Blayne Darnell, also 36 and Hardy's boyfriend, in connection with the attack. He faces serious charges, including Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill, Inflicting Serious Injury, and Attempted Murder. Darnell is currently detained at the Rockingham County Detention Facility with a secured bond set at $400,000.



As the investigation continues, the community is left shocked by the violence and the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
