Danville’s four free splash pads will each close for one scheduled maintenance day next week, with closures spread across Aug. 17-20.
DANVILLE — Families using Danville’s free splash pads should expect one-day closures at each site next week as the city completes scheduled maintenance.
The city’s schedule calls for the Ballou Park Splash Pad, 760 West Main St., to close Monday, Aug. 17; the Doyle Thomas Park Splash Pad, 827 Green St., to close Tuesday, Aug. 18; and the Third Avenue Splash Pad near 114 Green St., to close Wednesday, Aug. 19.
The Riverfront Park Sprayground at 100 Memorial Drive is scheduled to close Thursday, Aug. 20. Danville says the splash pads otherwise operate daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day, subject to weather and other operational changes.
Visitors should review the city’s posted rules before going. Glass containers, smoking or vaping, pets, food and drinks in the splash area, and unreserved gatherings are prohibited; the city also recommends adult supervision for children younger than 13.
