Danville North Main Street resurfacing begins Aug. 17

Danville motorists should plan for a changing traffic pattern on North Main Street beginning Monday, Aug. 17, when resurfacing work is scheduled to start between Third Avenue and Meadowbrook Drive.

The City of Danville says Adams Construction will mill and pave the corridor over approximately two weeks, weather and field conditions permitting. Work is generally expected between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., with traffic maintained through the work zone by contractor traffic-control staff and police officers.

Some side streets on the west side of North Main Street may close temporarily as the work advances. On-street parking will be restricted within the work area, and drivers should expect delays, consider alternate routes and watch for workers, equipment and shifting lane conditions.

What to know: The schedule is weather-dependent, and drivers should allow extra time during the daytime construction window.
