Danville opens citywide strategic-planning RFP window

Danville has opened a procurement window for a citywide strategic-planning project that will shape how departments track Council priorities and long-term city goals.

The city's bid page lists RFP-25-26-077, Citywide Strategic Planning, as open. The posted schedule includes a pre-proposal meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 25, a questions deadline of 5 p.m. Thursday, July 9, and a proposal opening at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2026.

The attached RFP says Danville is seeking a 3- to 5-year strategic plan and 16 departmental action plans to support progress on City Council priorities and the city's comprehensive plan, PLAN Danville. The city says it wants a practical plan responsive to community needs, informed by existing data and inclusive of staff perspectives across the organization.

  • What to know: Proposals can be submitted by mail, hand delivery or electronically through eVA, according to the RFP instructions.
  • Who is affected: Danville residents, city departments, vendors, civic groups and businesses watching how city priorities become measurable work plans.
  • Why it matters: Strategic plans can influence service goals, capital priorities, public reporting and how departments coordinate future investments.

Vendors should follow the official purchasing instructions and send questions to the city's purchasing address before the July 9 deadline.
