Greensboro's free MUSEP concert returns Aug. 23 at Country Park

Greensboro's free Music for a Sunday Evening in the Park series returns to Country Park on Sunday, Aug. 23, with Africa Unplugged scheduled to perform at 6 p.m. at Shelter #4, 3802 Jaycee Park Drive.

The concert gives residents a low-cost way to spend a late-summer evening outdoors: admission is free, and the city says guests may bring a picnic, blanket and lawn chairs. Donations are accepted to help support the series, and food vendors are expected to offer concessions.

Country Park is the final listed stop in the 2026 MUSEP schedule after earlier performances at Lindley Park, LeBauer Park, Barber Park and Hester Park. If weather affects the outdoor program, the city's notice says relocation information will be posted through Creative Greensboro and the series' social channels.

Practical details: The performance is set for 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, at Country Park Shelter #4, 3802 Jaycee Park Drive, Greensboro. Readers should check the official event information before leaving for any weather-related change. The accompanying graphic is an original illustrative SVG, not a documentary photograph.

Source: Reporting based on the City of Greensboro's May 21, 2026 MUSEP schedule notice, official city announcement. The Aug. 23 date, venue, performer and 6 p.m. start time come from that notice.
