Free cryptid escape room comes to Greensboro's Benjamin Branch Aug. 17-21

GREENSBORO — Families, library users and puzzle fans can test their clue-solving skills during a free cryptid-themed escape room at Benjamin Branch Library from Monday, Aug. 17, through Friday, Aug. 21, 2026.

The City of Greensboro calendar says the all-ages experience will use stories about Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and Mothman-style folklore as participants work through clues and puzzles. The program is designed as a playful library activity rather than a claim that the creatures are real.

Participation is free, but registration is required. The library says each session lasts 45 minutes, with time slots beginning on the hour. Because the event page does not publish one fixed public start time, families should reserve a slot before arriving. Benjamin Branch Library is at 1530 Benjamin Parkway in Greensboro. For questions or registration, call 336-373-7540.
