A court ruling is looming as a Saturday deadline threatens to ban many hemp products sold across Virginia.

U.S. District Judge Robert S. Ballou is weighing whether to halt new state hemp regulations set to take effect Saturday, August 15. Hemp shop owners say the rules could pull a wide range of products from shelves and cripple their businesses.

A decision is expected before the deadline.
