A man is accused of kidnapping a 12-year-old girl who was later able to escape safely, authorities say.

Deputies say the 38-year-old suspect was arrested and charged after the child got away and help was called. Investigators have not released details about how the two knew each other.

The suspect is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. The child is safe.
