Bike riders from across North Carolina and beyond raised more than $615,000 for the National MS Society during the 2026 Bike MS: Tour to Tanglewood, which wrapped up Sunday in Winston-Salem.

This was the 41st year for the event, one of the largest fundraisers for multiple sclerosis research and support in North Carolina. More than 400 bikers in the Piedmont Triad rode anywhere from 25 to 100 miles during the two-day event at Tanglewood Park, and a local team called Perpetual Motion, about 50 riders from the region, raised more than $80,000 on its own.

Multiple sclerosis is a chronic disease in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the protective coating around nerve fibers, affecting the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. The money raised goes directly to the National MS Society to support research for a cure and fund services for people living with MS.
