Danville is preparing to house a new regional air ambulance at the Danville Regional Airport.

After five years of discussions and data collection between the city and the aircraft's operator, a medical helicopter is set to be based in Danville. Officials say the aircraft will improve emergency response times across the region.

The city says the addition will help get critically injured and ill patients to hospitals faster.
