DJ WHAT! Turns Up the Volume in Collinsville With New Outdoor Music Park
COLLINSVILLE, Va. — If you thought the Collinsville District couldn't get any louder, DJ WHAT! apparently took that as a challenge.
The local entertainment hotspot is making its move outdoors tonight, premiering a new outdoor music park and bringing a sea of vehicles to the Holiday Shopping Center.
More than 100 cars were spread across the shopping center as the area came alive for the event, giving car enthusiasts plenty to look at while the music and festivities got underway.
For those who somehow missed the rise of this Collinsville hot spot, the business got a major dose of national attention when Sgt. Courtney Neary brought viewers inside during an appearance on the hit television program “On Patrol: Live.”
Now, DJ WHAT! is taking things outside.
Organizers have been hyping Friday's Open Blues Jam, promising a combination of live local blues, a car cruise-in, food and plenty of entertainment.
The schedule is packed:
5 p.m. — Doors open 6 p.m. — Car Cruise-In begins 8 p.m. — Music starts
And yes, the HOT FISH is back.
Organizers are encouraging people to arrive early, grab a drink and a bite to eat, check out the cars and settle in for a night of music.
The event is being billed as another big night for the Collinsville District, with local musicians taking the stage and area car owners bringing out their rides.
With more than 100 cars already spreading across the shopping center, it appears DJ WHAT! isn't exactly easing into the outdoor music business.
The pump is on, the foot is on the gas — and Collinsville apparently isn't planning to turn the volume down anytime soon.
