— Federal, state and local law enforcement officials are preparing to announce the results of a three-month surge operation targeting firearms trafficking and drug activity across the North Carolina Triad.

ATF Special Agent in Charge Alicia Jones will join law enforcement agencies to discuss the operation, which focused on Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem and surrounding communities.

Authorities have not yet released details about arrests, seized firearms, drugs or potential charges connected to the operation.

The announcement is expected to outline the results of the coordinated effort to combat illegal gun trafficking and drug-related crime throughout the region.

More details are expected when officials release the operation’s findings.
