WINSTON-SALEM — The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Art Commission will host a ribbon cutting for the new Rupert Bell Park basketball-court mural at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, at Rupert Bell Park, 1501 Mt. Zion Place.
The City of Winston-Salem says the mural transforms the park basketball courts and adjoining pavilion into a public-art installation honoring Winston-Salem native and NBA star Chris Paul. The project was funded through the Choice Neighborhood Revitalization Public Art Project in partnership with ASPIRE and the city.
Artist Brian Peterson designed and painted the mural in collaboration with The Urbane Artist. The city says residents helped shape the project through public-engagement opportunities, including the artist-selection process.
Community members, project partners, elected officials and media representatives are invited to attend. The official notice gives the ceremony time and park address but does not list a registration requirement, admission fee or separate parking plan.
