COLLINSVILLE, Va. — A shortcut from Belmont onto Moss Drive, leading into the Collinsville ValleyStar parking lot, has become a source of frustration for nearby residents.

For months, drivers have been cutting across the grassy area rather than following the roadway, gradually wearing away the grass until only bare dirt remains. When it rains, the damaged area turns into a muddy mess, adding to neighbors’ concerns.

After months of repeated traffic and increasing damage to the property, residents say they have had enough of drivers using the area as an unofficial shortcut.
