Reidsville Man Charged After Allegedly Failing to Register
A 67-year-old Reidsville man is facing charges after the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office says he failed to comply with requirements of North Carolina’s sex offender registry.
Gregory Riddick Jones, 67, of Reidsville, was arrested Aug. 7 and charged with:
Failure to Register Failure to Report
Jones was given a $25,000 secured bond and, according to the Sheriff's Office, remains in custody.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office said investigators have handled several recent cases involving people accused of failing to register, failing to report new addresses or failing to provide other information required under North Carolina law.
The Sheriff's Office said it takes violations of the state's sex offender registry requirements seriously and will continue investigating and charging individuals who fail to comply.
The county's Records Division is responsible for maintaining the local sex offender registry.
Jones previously appeared in a June 2026 Eden Police Department crime report in connection with an unrelated trespassing charge. That case resulted in a $5,000 secured bond.
As with all criminal charges, Jones is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
