Three Martinsville-Henry County Organizations Awarded $26,600 in Project Hope Grants

MARTINSVILLE, VA — Three community-based organizations have received a combined $26,600 in Project Hope grants from The Harvest Foundation. The recipients were recognized during an October grantee celebration at Piedmont Arts in Martinsville.

The funding will support programs designed to strengthen family relationships, preserve community wisdom, teach practical life skills, and encourage community involvement throughout Martinsville and Henry County.

The three organizations receiving funding are:

Tau Omicron Que School Foundation — $6,000 for its Dine and Converse program.

For the Children Partners in Prevention Coalition — $12,600 for its Wisdom From The Hive initiative.

The Blueprint Impact Foundation — $8,000 for its Community Camp program.

“Project Hope is really about more than grants,” said India Brown, program officer at The Harvest Foundation. “It is about listening to our community, trusting the people who know their neighborhoods best, and creating space for local ideas to grow.”

Brown emphasized that some of the best solutions to community challenges come from residents who understand their neighborhoods and are already working to make a difference.
