Officials at Reagan High School in Winston-Salem are investigating an incident that happened in the football team's locker room.
In a message to parents, school officials said the incident occurred Tuesday afternoon during a lightning delay, when players began clapping and tried to remove a student's shirt. A coach heard the commotion and stopped it, and the families of the students involved were contacted.
Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools Superintendent Don Phipps said the district was made aware of a social media post describing the incident and has opened an investigation. The matter has also been reported to law enforcement. Officials say any disciplinary action will follow once the investigation is complete.
