Hollywood showed up at The Last Great Colosseum Saturday night as Academy Award-winning actor Brad Pitt served as co-Grand Marshal for the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Pitt joined Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris for the race's pre-race ceremonies and the famous command for drivers to start their engines.
Pitt's appearance came just days before the release of his new Paramount Pictures film, “Heart of the Beast,” which opens exclusively in theaters September 25. Pitt stars as a former Special Forces officer who survives a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness alongside his combat dog.
The actor appeared to be enjoying the Bristol experience, interacting with fans and NASCAR personalities during the pre-race festivities, including Ryan Blaney.
And while Pitt may be accustomed to red carpets, cameras and Hollywood premieres, Saturday night gave him a completely different kind of spotlight — 500 laps, 160,000-plus screaming fans and NASCAR under the lights.
Not exactly Hollywood Boulevard. This was Bristol. 🏁🎬
