Police are investigating after 60 vehicle break-ins were reported over four days at apartments and hotels near Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
According to Raleigh and Morrisville police, the first round of 32 break-ins happened early Thursday morning at the Adara Alexander Place Apartments at 3055 Carrington Mill Blvd., southwest of RDU across Interstate 40; two guns were among the items stolen there. Then, early Monday morning, a combined 28 vehicles were broken into between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. at hotels on Slater Road and Sorrel Park Drive in Morrisville, less than a mile from the Raleigh apartments, including a Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites and an Extended Stay America. Officers say they are actively investigating the Morrisville break-ins.
Police have not said whether the two break-in sprees are believed to be connected, and no arrests had been announced.
