A Burlington man wanted for more than five years has been arrested and charged with murder in the 2020 shooting death of a Mebane man, court records show.
The U.S. Marshals Service apprehended Marquis Jamar Moore in Florida in connection with the death of Ryan Tate Hogan, and he is awaiting extradition back to North Carolina. Around 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 8, 2020, deputies with the Alamance County Sheriff's Office were called to a home on the 2400 block of U.S. 70 in Mebane for a report of a person with a gunshot wound, and found Hogan dead. Court documents say two witnesses saw a burgundy Honda Accord enter the area before the killing and watched two people in all-black clothing with face coverings approach Hogan's home; moments later they heard two gunshots and saw the pair run back to the car and speed away. Investigators later determined that Dazmin Monique Crisp, then 18, drove a similar car, and phone records and security camera footage placed her at the scene; she was charged with first-degree murder and felony breaking and entering in September 2020 and remains in custody.
Moore is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. The case against Crisp remains open.
