People came from all over for the 5th annual Honey Festival in Buchanan, a celebration of all things honey.
Six beekeepers set up shop Saturday, a first for the festival, because organizers say they wanted to keep it local. Visitors learned about everything from local honey to holistic health, and the many ways bees help out the world around us.
"Farmers pay commercial beekeepers; it's really important," said Botetourt Beekeepers Association President Sarah Melendy. Melendy said that while some people might be afraid of bees because they sting, honeybees are calm and friendly.
