Henry County lists key dates for August dual primaries

Henry County voters have a new election calendar to track for the August 4, 2026, dual primary elections.

The county registrar's office lists June 18, 2026, as the first day of in-person early voting at the registrar's office, with regular early voting hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot by mail is 5 p.m. July 24, and the deadline to register to vote or update an existing registration is July 28.

Weekend early-voting options are also posted. The registrar lists Sunday voting on July 19 and July 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday voting on July 25 and August 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the last day of early voting as August 1. Election Day voting at assigned precincts is scheduled for 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 4.

  • Where: Henry County Elections and Registrar's Office, 3300 Kings Mountain Road, Room 103, Martinsville.
  • What to know: After August 1, voters must vote at their assigned precinct on Election Day.
  • Why it matters: Late-July deadlines arrive quickly once early voting begins, especially for voters who need to update registration or request a mail ballot.

Voters should confirm their precinct and ballot status through the official Virginia voter portal or by contacting the Henry County registrar before relying on a third-party mailing.
