More than two months after gunfire erupted on Memorial Avenue, Lynchburg Police have arrested a Washington, D.C., man in connection with the shooting.
The Lynchburg Police Department announced that Jovaun Adrian Lee, 21, of Washington, D.C., was arrested on July 31, 2026, in connection with the May 20, 2026, shooting.
Lee faces multiple felony charges, including:
Armed robbery Aggravated malicious wounding Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony Reckless handling of a firearm Willfully discharging a firearm in a public place Prohibition of wearing masks in certain places
Investigators have not released additional details about the circumstances of the shooting or Lee's arrest.
The investigation remains active, and police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Bond at (434) 455-6161 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 798-5900.
