Crash Shuts Down Part of Fort Avenue, Drivers Urged to Find Alternate Route
Motorists traveling through Lynchburg should expect delays after a crash closed part of Fort Avenue Tuesday night.
According to the Lynchburg Fire Department, the 6100 block of Fort Avenue near the intersection with Edgewood and Longmeadow is blocked due to a traffic accident.
Traffic heading out of the city is currently restricted, and officials are urging drivers to use caution if traveling in the area or avoid the area altogether by using an alternate route.
No information has been released about injuries or how long the roadway is expected to remain closed. Authorities are asking motorists to slow down, follow directions from emergency crews, and seek alternate routes until the scene is cleared.
