Tinker Creek cleanup returns to Fallon Park on Aug. 8

roanokeva.gov | Aug 5, 2026 2:13 AM

The City of Roanoke’s annual Tinker Creek cleanup is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, with participants gathering at Fallon Park before heading to cleanup locations.

The city calendar identifies the event as a public effort organized by the Roanoke Stormwater Utility to clean Tinker Creek and portions of the Roanoke River. Groups will return to Fallon Park after the stream work for lunch.

The listing gives Fallon Park, Roanoke, as the meeting location and does not include a separate registration link or equipment checklist. Residents planning to participate should review the city’s event page for any updated instructions before leaving home and should follow on-site safety guidance around water, banks and cleanup materials.

This event is part of the practical work that keeps waterways usable and helps remove litter before it moves farther downstream. The city’s notice does not identify specific cleanup segments, so the work areas may be assigned at the morning gathering.
