Roanoke targets April 20 return to regular recycling pickup

Roanoke's Solid Waste Management team says regular curbside recycling service is targeted to resume Monday, April 20, 2026, after temporary schedule adjustments tied to driver shortages.

In its April 9 update, the city said crews have been adding Friday and Saturday work and expanding staffing support while maintaining trash, bulk, and brush collection priorities.

Officials also directed residents to interim drop-off availability at the Tinker Creek Transfer Station while route normalization is completed.

For Roanoke Valley households, today's date marks the city's stated return point for standard pickup cadence, with any same-day route changes expected through city update channels.
