Families and nature-curious residents can explore Roanoke's nighttime park life during Bug & Bat Night on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Eureka Park.
The program is scheduled from 8 to 10 p.m. at Eureka Park, 1529 Carroll Ave. NW. Roanoke Parks and Recreation says participants will use UV lights to attract nocturnal insects and sensitive microphones to listen for bat echolocation.
Admission is listed at $5 to $25. The activity is designed as a neighborhood nature-exploration program, offering a close-up look at wildlife that is usually active after dark.
Attendees should confirm registration availability, weather plans and any equipment or age guidance with Roanoke Parks and Recreation before heading out.
