WINSTON-SALEM — Model railroaders, families and hobby shoppers will have a two-day gathering at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds on Aug. 29-30, when the Southbound Model Train Expo returns with layouts, vendors and train accessories in a range of scales.
The expo is scheduled at the fairgrounds, 569 Fairgrounds Boulevard, Gate 7, Winston-Salem. The official Visit Winston-Salem listing gives the hours as 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30.
Adult admission is $10 for both days. Children age 12 and under may attend free when accompanied by an adult. The listing says parking is free and directs visitors to enter through Gate 7 off Shorefair Drive.
Southbound Model Railroaders says the show will include vendors selling model trains and accessories across multiple scales, making the expo a shopping stop for experienced collectors as well as a family-friendly introduction to the hobby. People interested in vending can find application information through Southbound Model Railroaders.
