Winston-Salem yard-waste sticker requirements begin Aug. 3

Winston-Salem has extended the start date for its 2026-27 yard-waste cart renewal sticker requirements to Monday, Aug. 3, 2026.

The city says the date changed because customers experienced a delay in receiving their renewal notices. The notice appears in the city’s General Alerts section and applies to the upcoming yard-waste cart renewal period.

Residents who use the city’s yard-waste collection service should check their renewal materials and the official collections information before placing a cart for service after the new start date. The alert does not change other collection schedules or provide a separate fee update.

Residents who have not received the information they need can use the city’s Collections page or contact CityLink at 336-727-8000 or 311 within Winston-Salem.

Source: Reporting based on the City of Winston-Salem’s official yard-waste renewal alert, posted June 24, 2026 and checked July 29, 2026. The story does not infer any collection-rule change beyond the date extension stated by the city.
