Greensboro paving cycle hits airport and neighborhood streets through May 29

Greensboro's weekly paving cycle is active again, with the city warning that several streets may see alternate-lane traffic or full closures through Friday, May 29.

The city's May 22 notice says the work windows run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and are part of Greensboro's 2026 road paving projects. Paving is listed for Westminster Drive, Fleming Terrace Circle, Fleming Terrace Road, Boeing Drive, Cessna Drive and Friendship Drive.

Additional milling or structure-raising work is scheduled for Cheltenham Boulevard, Cheltenham Court, Lionne Drive, Cypress Park Road, West Avenue, Birchcrest Drive, Glenhaven Drive, Kirkman Street, Rath Street, Columbus Court, Miami Street, Savannah Court, Savannah Street, and two sections of Martin Street, along with Omaha Street.

That mix touches airport-area routes, residential streets and connector corridors. Greensboro is telling motorists to use alternate routes, follow detour signs and obey flaggers. Weather, materials and equipment availability can shift the schedule, so drivers should check the city's Road Projects page for updates before assuming a route is clear.
