Roanoke County Hollins precinct comment period closes today

Roanoke County voters in Hollins Precinct 206 have a same-day civic deadline today, Tuesday, May 26, tied to a temporary polling-place relocation.

The county says upcoming construction at Hollins Library is prompting the proposed temporary move to North Roanoke Baptist Church at 6402 Peters Creek Road. The county says the proposed voting room would be the main fellowship hall or gymnasium and that the site is ADA accessible.

The Board of Supervisors is expected to vote on the change during its May 26 meeting. The public-comment period opened April 10 and closes May 26, with written comments accepted by email to the Board of Supervisors or by mail to the clerk.

If approved, the first election for Precinct 206 at North Roanoke Baptist Church would be the August 4, 2026, primary. Roanoke County says the church is about 0.3 miles from Hollins Library and on the same side of the road.
