7:45 p.m. FRI - 9/11/26 - HEAVY STORM IN FRANKLIN COUNTY NEARING BOONES MILL, ROCKY MOUNT, and FERRUM areas…

A slow-moving storm with torrential rain between Cahas Mountain and Callaway is growing in western Franklin County nearing the NW limits of Rocky Mount into Burnt Chimney and Westlake.

While the steering winds are trying to push the storm slowly east at 5 mph, the front causing the storms is propagating SW and may kick off new cells closer to Ferrum, Philpott Lake into Stuart.

Another strong storm in Carroll County is moving east into Floyd County, meeting up with the Franklin County Storm over the Copper Hill area of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This activity could converge somewhere between Franklin, Henry, Pittsylvania, Patrick, and Floyd Counties through 10:30 p.m. with run-off style flooding in low spots and damaging wind gusts possible.
