Rocky Mount Man Faces 21 Felony Charges in Child Sexual Abuse Material Investigation
ROCKY MOUNT, Va. — A Rocky Mount man is being held without bond after investigators say a search of his home uncovered evidence connected to an investigation involving sexual abuse material of a minor.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant Aug. 12 at a home on Iceberg Lane in Rocky Mount as part of the investigation.
Following the investigation, authorities arrested Jorge Gilberto Zamorano Burciaga, 36.
According to the sheriff’s office, Burciaga faces 21 felony charges, including:
Nine counts of possession of child pornography Six counts of producing or making child pornography involving a child under 15 Three counts of reproducing or selling child pornography Two counts of possessing obscene materials involving minors One count of reproducing, transmitting or selling child pornography
Burciaga is currently being held without bond at the Franklin County Jail.
The sheriff’s office said federal immigration authorities have also been notified to determine Burciaga’s immigration status.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, according to authorities.
Authorities aren't calling this a minor investigation — 21 felony charges and no bond make that abundantly clear.
