The county says staff became aware on July 6, 2026, of Seiontec Systems' notice that it would cease operations. County staff has contacted Seiontec and is communicating with other internet service providers that serve Franklin County to better understand options for affected residents.

Residents who use Seiontec are encouraged to check the Virginia BEAD Progress Hub for broadband availability and deployment information, including providers that may serve their address.
