Henry County sets two-day land-use hearing schedule

Henry County residents have two consecutive days of public land-use hearings to track this week, covering commercial rezoning, apartment development and a proposed retail use.

At 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, the Board of Supervisors is scheduled to hear two rezoning cases. One covers about 5.676 acres at Fairystone Park Highway and Blackberry Road proposed for B-1 commercial zoning for RV and boat storage. The other covers about 1.726 acres on A.L. Philpott Highway proposed for B-1 commercial zoning for future commercial marketing.

At 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, the Board of Zoning Appeals is scheduled to consider a special-use permit for an additional apartment building with eight one-bedroom units between 328 and 380 Glasgow Drive in Ridgeway. A second case seeks permission for retail space in an accessory building at 4952 Chatham Road in the Iriswood District.
